Our goal as a team at The Hair Salon is to welcome you. To go above and beyond your expectations by continuously attending advanced education and seminars, which will result in giving you the ultimate in service and environment.

Meet Our Team

Gwen M. Puerner-King

Gwen has worked in our wonderful industry of ever-changing beauty; reaching a 30++++ year career. She, personally, enjoys the creativity of the “artistry” of her career. Gwen made a home for her salon in Lake Mills twenty years ago, and loves every exciting day that is around the corner! Gwen wanted to offer a salon to allow other stylists to grow in the hair industry, and create a “magical” place to nurture and grow for a stylist. She also wanted to give the client a relaxing, high-creativity salon to “touch up” their beauty!

She is passionate about adding a palette of color to a client’s tresses and loves working with all natural curl clients and their needs. She is proud of the small print of waste that leaves the salon and is very excited about the large amount of recycle that leaves instead.

Gwen burns off her other energy with her hubby at “The Land” over in “God’s Country”, going exploring and hiking, snow shoeing, skiing and nature watching. She also loves photography and other forms of art work.

She is dedicated to helping the growth of our communities by serving on the RDA (Re-Development Association) Board in Jefferson. The Hair Salon is also active in helping with the local food pantries, and with PADA (People Against Domestic Abuse).

Gwen looks forward to creating your “own look” and always “Sparkelizing” your world!

Katie Schwebs

Katie has been with the salon since she was out of high school — which gives us ten years and counting. She is an instructor for our industry, and shares with us all her talent and energy with the latest changes in fashion within our world.

Katie has a passion for “Special Event” hair styles and working with personalized classes that suit your beauty needs.

She lives in the Newville area with her husband and son and daughter. She also likes to rock climb and enjoys her new career as a “mommy”.

Turn left at Co Rd A/County Rd B/E Madison Street and continue to follow County Rd B/E Madison Street. Turn left at County Rd B/E Lake Street. Take the 3rd right onto Grove Street. Grove St turns left and becomes Jefferson Street. Business will be on the left.

From Milwaukee:
Take I-94 West towards Madison. Take the exit toward WI-89 S/Co Rd G/N Main Street. Turn left at WI-89 S/Co Rd G/ Turn left at Co Rd A/County Rd B/E Madison Street and continue to follow County Rd B/E Madison Street. Turn left at County Rd B/E Lake Street. Take the 3rd right onto Grove Street. Grove St turns left and becomes Jefferson Street. Business will be on the left.

From Janesville:
Take WI-26 North to Jefferson. Turn left at US-18 W/W Racine Street and continue to follow US-18 west. Turn right at WI-89 N/County Rd Q and continue to follow WI-89 north to Lake Mills. Turn right at E Lake Park Place. Turn left at Grove Street. Destination will be on the left.
